Come tour the church history sites...

Winter quarters temple in Nebraska, The sister missionaries at the visitors center informed us that there was a tornado watch for that night, luckily we didn't have to actually experience a tornado. Here is a picture of the whole Wells family that went on the trip. Winter quarters was one of the more spiritual sites for me.

Independence Missouri, Here is the Community of Christ otherwise known as the re-organized church. temple or snail shell.

We also went to Liberty Jail where Joseph Smith received the 122 and123 sections of the Doctrine and Covenants. Great sections to read when you need a little reminder that life is going to be hard and we can get through it because Heavenly Father is right there always.

This is the memorial at FarWest One of the places the pioneers built up and then were driven out.

David Whitmer and Oliver Cowdery's graves

Adam-ondi-ahman was beautiful and this is the rock that Joseph Smith would preach on. The only unfortunate thing there were the ticks and they seemed to like Ryan and I cuz we kept finding them on us...

We finally made it to Nauvoo and I have to say that I loved the drive over the Mississippi River and all along the shore of the river to get there, it was breathtaking. Here is Ryan and I by the Mississippi River. And as you will see in this picture, the temple is located on Wells street how appropriate for the group touring there that week.

In Nauvoo We did 3 days worth of touring and looking in shops, houses ,
and more houses. Here are just a few of the places we visited. Although we were busy all the time we did find a moment here and there for some romance, fun, and of course "Big Booty"

We were able to go and do a session in the Nauvoo temple and that was really wonderful to be there with practically all of Ryan's family. I'm glad I was able to be a part of that, and for me that was another one of the more spiritual experiences of the trip.

Here is Joseph, Hyrum, and Emma's Graves. I don't know if anyone else is this way but it is hard to really grasp that they were there and lived in those exact homes, and built up the church right there where we were. It is pretty awesome in the sense that I am awe-struck by it all.

When we left Nauvoo we went to Carthage where Joseph and Hyrum were martyred and that was the other spiritual time for me.

Once we left Nauvoo we took a picture of the whole city looking back as did the pioneers, you cant really see it in this picture but the whole city and the temple are behind us.

We went from there to Hanibal Missouri where we took a lunch cruise on the Mississippi river and the was fun and relaxing.

We also went and did sealings in the St Louis temple, and before getting on the plane in St. Louis we went to the Gateway arch and rode all the way to the top, by the way, it is VERY high. ahhh here's the arch and here we are in it at the top.

I am so glad that we were able to go and spend time alone together and also to have experienced these wonderful places. Thanks to Jenni my sister for watching Kate, and Triple, Quadruple, Infinity, thanks to Grandma Wells who provided it for us.

Fetchin sweet Rach! We took the Nauvoo trip the summer of '02; it was fantastic! While we were there, I ran into Nick Tippets (from high school)! Small world. It will be great to catch up with you this weekend!
Oh yeah, the finger is getting better (hopefully). I haven't seen any red lines going up my arm to my heart so that's nice.
