Is there really a light at the end of this tunnel?

I think I might see an end to potty training, Kate is totally potty trained at home I don't even worry any more about accidents but the trick is when we leave the house. Well 2 days ago we went to blockbuster and she was wandering around then came and whispered to me "gotta go potty" so I casually but promptly found out where to go and she took her diaper off and climbed up on the potty and went! I tried not to make a huge deal of it and acted more like it's just what we do and she was cool with it. So then just yesterday we were at Wen and Lynnes house and she wandered off again to play and then came back and asked "where's the potty?" so I took her again and sure enough she had a dry diaper and went on the potty.

I'm learning an important lesson about potty training Patience. I tried wayyyyy too early and pushed wayyy to hard to have her get it and now it has become a power struggle and control issue. So I've spent the last 4-6 months letting her decide what she wants to do (wear a diaper, wear panties, etc..) and I think it might pay off. So with baby #2 I'm waiting till he's ready for sure. With Kate we're not there yet but at least we're on our way Hooray!

So good to hear. I have been wanting Izzy to be potty trained so so bad but I do not want to push her and have it be a power struggle with us!! Thank you!

The first ones are our guinea pigs...Abbie is showing signs...I think I will test the potty training waters in June and see how it goes...I don't want a battle...great advice!
