Funny little Kate

The other day on our way home from preschool Kate waved goodbye to one of her teachers and said "Goodbye miss Cheryl" and then I asked if she loved her teachers and she said "hmmm no, they're not mommy" That made me happy mostly because I feel like I'm more the ogre than anything...saying "time for this or that" and "don't do this and that" so that was cute to me..( she really does love her pre-school teachers though).

Today as we were walking up our 3 flights of stairs she said while in her snow boots "can't-pick-up-legs...Too-heavy" so I started laughing and she said "Not like Buzz lightyear huh".

Yesterday on our way home from church Ryan said (sorry Ryan) "I'm gonna crap my pants" and Kate said with a scrunched up face and an inquisitive look "you're gonna CRAP your pants??" usually I would say something like "Ryan watch what you say around her" but I was laughing too hard to get anything out.

The latest

My sister is awesome, she is 8 months pregnant and was willing to go and take some pictures of our family today, we seriously took like 4 hours out of her day and she got to witness or re-live I should say the nightmare of taking family pictures. When I picked our outfits out, it was warm springy weather but Kate got the swine flu and a few weeks went by and so I thought it was going to be nice today but we froze and the kids cried... I guess that is what you would expect for family pictures but luckily I think we got some good ones cuz Mandy is a magician on the camera.

Oh and Thanksgiving was yesterday, we went to Samantha's house and Jessica came over (Ryan's sisters) and we had a nice meal, the kids were awesome and we even got a few hands of wizard in. So all in all it was a great day.

Here's some cuties of Tommy in his blessing outfit and some other fun pics (thanks again Mandy)

I will survive!

ahhhhh (that is a huge sigh of relief because we now have a working computer) hooray and halleluja (spelling?)
It's a long story of why we didn't have a computer but I just want to say that we survived! Heck I'd like to say we survived to a lot of things, this last week is one of them...Ryan we think has/had mono, Kate we think had swine flu, (luckily Tommy and I still are healthy, Knock on wood), There really is something to taking vitamins, washing your hands till they crack and bleed, and gargling and swabbing with salt water...it seems to be keeping the bugs away...

Tommy finally slept a 7 hr stretch at 9 weeks and has done that twice now, and he is going to bed earlier (Thank you Mandy for reminding me that we can do that) So come 8:30 both kids are in bed (in general) and we get to have a little time together to watch shows, read, have snacks or just go to be ourselves. So yes we survived the first 9 weeks of Tommy's life which at times I wasn't sure if we were going to. We also survived the first Ward party, just 2 more to go this year ( I got a new calling, activities co-chair) Ryan also got a new calling Stake varsity scout master-yikes- and hopefully he will survive this weekend which is his first campout with this ward and yes it snowed today...They are going to nutty putty caves.
Here are some pictures of halloween festivities, we did a snow white theme this year, and there's a fun picture of Kate and her cousins Elle and Owen, also Kate's first day of preschool.

Tommy is now smiling and I am absolutely loving it! He is such a doll and Kate is such a doll with him, she ADORES him no joke, (as you can see). He also seems to cry less now, I don't know if it's just cuz his digestive system is maturing, or now he can see so he's happier, or what but it is super fun.
Here's a couple of pics that are up to date for now.

still here

I really do exist...the situation is as follows... we have been computer-less for 2 months now and I have so many pictures I want to share and things I want to say but it's tough without a computer handy when the kids are quietly contained and I can escape for a second so hopefully soon I can post more...

A little about Kate

I just have to say that I love to listen to little Kate play, she plays and plays and plays all day long with her "pee pockets" (polly pockets). She lives in a whole fantasy world and they all talk to each other, it's funny to listen to the conversations that they have. most of the conversations involve someone yelling "help I'm falling" and another "friend" coming to the rescue, or they talk about their ooowwwies, and the "friend" tells them that they're sorry. It's pretty cute.

The last of the good weather

So I probably shouldn't get this ambitious right after having a baby but I had to take advantage of the good weather so I went running the other day and I must say, it felt sooooo good! The next day I was definitely sore but it was nice to feel like myself for a minute. I've found that getting out even if it's just for a drive, it a good cure for the baby blues. Something about the sunshine is very theraputic.

He's here!

Our computer is struggling so I can't get our pictures up, but Tommy is here! He was born on
9-9-09 and yes we were induced...it went really well from start to finish it took 3 hours so it was pretty smooth. We've been home now for almost 3 weeks and it's been a whirlwind but I think we are finally leveling out, and I think maybe we will survive :) He was 7 lbs 3 oz and 20 inches long, and he has a ton of dark hair. I'll put pictures up when we get this computer functioning.

Oh I got a new calling yesterday, activities co-chair in our ward. So I guess I'm off and running giddyup.

update

Well we've decided to induce on the 9th, but my dr. doesn't think we'll make it till then so I'll keep you updated at some point...As of the 3rd, I'm at a 3 and 90% effaced...so you would think anytime now but who know's how the body works. I'm feeling anxious though and so is Ryan.

3 or 4 weeks???

I am back and forth trying to decide if we should induce a week early which would be 3 weeks away or wait and see what happens naturally...ahhh decisions decisions. But I have to say that I'm excited to meet little Tommy and also very excited to not be prego anymore.

Well some other new news is that I am moving salons again... De Leon is closing their doors and come Sept. 1 I have to find a new place to work. I have a couple of options but haven't decided yet where exactly I want to be. so there again, decisions decisions. So I'm going to take september off and start work again at the beginning of October.

Kate is doing awesome on the potty, I'm so proud of her. She even told her nursery leader on Sunday that she needed to go and didn't wait for us to come and take her... hooray.

Ryan and i are teaching the marriage and family relations class still, and it's been fun to be able to prepare specific lessons once a week together, I've learned some new insights from him and we've been able to kind of learn and grow together.

The other day, I asked Kate if that night she was going to take her Jammies off after I close the door to leave and she said "yes" and I asked her why she does that, and she said while rubbing her arms and tummy "it's soooooo comfy" so we just sneak in after she's asleep and re-dress her so she's not cold in the night.

Ryan starts school tomorrow :( It's been a fun summer together going to the gym and 7-peaks. Oh and he won the weight bet that he had with his brother Jay I'm so proud of him, he lost 17 pounds this summer and he definitely deserves the recognition cuz he worked hard... and I must say that he is looking good!
